Visting San Francisco with 2 friends in September and need a reasonable/clean/safe Hotel or Motel?

My friends and I will be out and about 98% of the time, so we dont want something super expensive if we wont be there for anything but to shower and sleep. We'll be fine with a decent motel or small hotel in a safe area.

A hotel/motel that isnt on Orbitz would be great- as they may have better rates if they arent posted all over the internet. Any help with be appreciated. Thank you!!Visting San Francisco with 2 friends in September and need a reasonable/clean/safe Hotel or Motel?
I would suggest hostels. They have plenty and they are great rates. I can't think of any of the names right off hand, but if you look up San Fran Hostels, you'll get a list, and I suggest calling them rather than booking online. Of course, these are mostly full of college age students, so if you're older, you may not want to check them out. My husband recently stayed at the 480 Hotel and thought it was excellent, but it was probably on Orbits...Visting San Francisco with 2 friends in September and need a reasonable/clean/safe Hotel or Motel?
The place I always put my visiting friends is the Hotel del Sol on Webster Street in the Marina.

It's a sweet little motel, nice people, cute furnishings. All the rooms are above the street (parking is on the first level), and the area is surprisingly quiet for being so close to Lombard Street.

And a plus is that it has a pool. Since you're coming in September, it'll most likely be warm enough to swim.

Reasonable rates and San Francisco don't go together. Call AAA and get a list of hotels. The only place that you will find a cheap rate is in a very bad neighborhood.

Good luck and enjoy our beautiful and very very expensive city.

How dirty are hotels and motels? Do they really clean them? I just stayed a a Holiday Inn?

When I was checking out and and we were carrying our stuff out I watched a maid go into the room across the hall strip the bed throw the blankets and pillows on the floor change the sheets spritz the bathroom sink and leave. Is this the Norm? Was she just lazy? It makes me sick to think about the filth I slept in.How dirty are hotels and motels? Do they really clean them? I just stayed a a Holiday Inn?
I worked briefly in high school and college at a Ramada Inn and yeah that sounds about right. We were told ';If it don't look dirty leave it alone';. And no hotel or motel washes the blankets, or bedspreads or pillows each time some one checks out. They would wear out and fade too quickly. I know the maids were mostly searching for things to keep not cleaning. They were looking for dropped wallets, change and jewelery people would leave behind. Its sad but true. These places are prime breeding grounds for dirt and germs. People would let their dogs sleep in the extra beds or they would have sex on top the bedspread and you just wouldn't believe that filth in hotel rooms. How dirty are hotels and motels? Do they really clean them? I just stayed a a Holiday Inn?
After reading those answers, I'll never again stay overnight in the Holiday Inns and the likes......Better save a bit beforehand and stay in a 5-Star *****First Class and up Hotel instead !!
Your search ends at below site. Have a look at it. It will definitely help you out

We stayed in a 4 star hotel earlier this year that was filthy.

Actually we left after the 1st night and they wouldn't refund our last 3 nights stay.

The sheets were stained, the blankets were also stained and covered in other peoples hair - ewwwwwww, the floors were thick with dust all around the edges, the dishes had food stuck to them, the walls had big dirty marks, the list goes on......

We called the manager immediately and he didn't want to look. He finally came the next day and apologised. He said he could not refund what we had prepaid for the next 3 days.

We checked out as we were so upset and booked into a cheaper, cleaner hotel up the road. We checked the room before we handed over the credit card.

I photographed it all and wrote a letter to the management of the hotel chain. They apologised and offerred me a 10% discount off my next stay, but no refund.

My advise:

- Always have a look at the room before you hand over money or a credit card.

- Stay at a reputable chain.

- Ask your friends and family for their recommendations.

- If you go to Australia NEVER stay at a Breakfree or S8 Resort Hotel.
You can find filth even in a 5 star hotel!

My family and I have always stayed in Sheraton Hotels or Westin Hotels because since my dad is sooo picky well he says that the good life is always in the 5 star hotels..... not true....

It all depends on the staff that they have..... she might have been lazy... but you can also see that in a 5 star hotel.... i have, every time i get in the room i check everything from the sinks to the bathtub... under the bed the sheets... everything! and there has been like 3 times that i have found hairs, weird stuff in the carpet.... even under the bed... i have found Qtips .... seriously.... im not satying that its everyime no it has been 3 out of like 100 times in my whole life.

But all im saying that it depends on the person who clean the room.... my sister friend works in a Holiday inn in Las Vegas and she tells us everyting they do to keep the rooms clean.... its tough...but she gets it done... so i wouldnt generalize.... just next time.... do check everything!!! you might even get a discount or something for free =0) if you find something....

but dont worry.... if you didnt see anything then you didnt sleep in filth

  • In Florida what's the closest hotel/inn/motel to disney in Florida and the least expensive?

The cheapest motels close to Disney are on highway 192 either east or west of the Disney south entrance (although you couldn't walk in)

The actual closest is the Knights Inn Maingate where you should be able to get a room for under $40 - they have a shuttle to Disney that goes a couple times a day and the rooms are very basic but clean enough.

The cheapest hotel on the Disney lot is the Pop Century and costs from around $85 for this you get access to Disney transport and the rooms and public areas are generally nicer than a cheap motel.

Depends what your budget will stretch to - if you are going to spend all day in the parks a cheap crash pad is all you need. The attached website has maps and discounted hotels. In Florida what's the closest hotel/inn/motel to disney in Florida and the least expensive?
close and inexpensive are relative terms. The closest hotels are the Disney parks and the all star resorts are similar in cost to those outside the park - except there is better transportation and extra features like extra hours at the parks for Disney Guests.

I've stayed at a Days inn that is at the end of Buena Vista Drive and it was low cost BUT bus transport (that you paid for) was iffy and if you wanted to come back to the hotel say for lunch - nonexistent. Ever since that I have stayed at the parks. In Florida what's the closest hotel/inn/motel to disney in Florida and the least expensive?

If anybody has been to london and has any suggestions please let us know! We've been to all those websites with hostels and everything and we just haven't found anything that great. ThanksNeed a decently cheap and good location hotel/motel to stay in with ensuite bathrooms (non shared) help?

What Hotel/Motel impressed you the most when you were on a vacation and Why?

I love a small hotel in Santorini Greece. The Icons hotel. I like it and I spend some days there every year. It's a very good hotel with a breath catching view of the caldera and very good room's decoration, many facilities and very very good service. Ideal! What Hotel/Motel impressed you the most when you were on a vacation and Why?
The Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan, Egypt. A very traditional and 19th century feel. Service is in the same mode. A sun downer on the veranda overlooking the Nile with the sun setting and the feluccas plying the river is spectacular. Your imagination carries you back in time in a very gentile manner. What Hotel/Motel impressed you the most when you were on a vacation and Why?
waterway village hotel..its amazing hotel 5 stars..the owners are so friendlies, and its incredible spectacular swimming people , a lot Jacuzzis very impressive decoration,, everything its black and white,,,the people its so friendly,, great areas and lot attractions in west palm beach, i remember some stars in luxury cars..beauty memories
The Victoria Park Plaza in Amsterdam. It's very old and luxorious, but has a bit of creepiness to it; if you stay in the old wing. We had a suite, and had a great time. Great views, great location.

When, where and by whom did the Bible start showing up in Hotels and Motels?

According to its web site, Gideons International is the ';oldest Christian business and professional men's association in the United States of America.'; The two founders, John Nicholson and Samuel Hill, met while sharing a room in the over-crowded Central Hotel in Boscobel, Wisconsin. They named their association after the biblical figure who submitted himself to the will of God, regardless of his own judgments.

Initially conceived as a Christian organization of ';traveling men,'; in 1908 the group dedicated itself to providing a bible for every hotel room in America, a step towards fulfilling their mission of ';distributing the Bible in the human traffic lanes and streams of everyday life.'; As the numerous copies of the book found in hotels and motels across the country can attest, they've pretty much completed their goal.

Besides placing the Bible in hotels, the Gideons also provide the ';Good Book'; to nursing homes, domestic violence shelters, schools, prisons, as well as the military, law enforcement personnel, firefighters, and EMTs.When, where and by whom did the Bible start showing up in Hotels and Motels?
Here is a good short article that answers your question concisely and clearly. When, where and by whom did the Bible start showing up in Hotels and Motels?
I was going to say the Gideons organization is the one responsible for all the Bibles, but I don't know when it began. Then I looked at the other answers and ';william a'; has far surpassed any knowledge I have, and it seems I've heard those details before, so I'd feel confident of their accuracy here. God Bless you.

  • How long should a mattress be kept, and what about those in hotels and motels?

If you properly rotate your mattress, and vacuum it at least once a quarter, you will greatly enhance the life of your mattress. It's also good to have a mattress protector on your mattress -- one that repels liquids and also prevents allergens. It makes it much easier to clean. Just throw the mattress protector in the wash when you change your sheets.

I have mattresses that are nearly 20 years old - they're in teriffic shape because I've taken the time to take good care of them over the years.

Hope this information helps. How long should a mattress be kept, and what about those in hotels and motels?
I keep one for about 5-8 years. Hotels should get new ones every 1-2 years.

Legal age is 18 to sign any contract. The 21 and over law pertains to gambling and drinking. All other activities are governed by the 18 being an adult. As long as you have a credit card in your name is all you need. When you check in you have give them your card to copy the info and verify it. I am sure students at UNLV are not over 21 and yet they can rent rooms.
hi- we did but this was a few years ago. We booked at the algiers which is not a main casino but it is on the strip- opposite circus circus.

We also stayed in tropicana, sahara, la concha- a dive, dont stay there- and the mirage. try them! We never said how old we were actually...
I believe that the Riviera allows people to book at 18

why go to Vegas at 18? you cant do anything that Vegas is known for........better have your own credit card, no hotel without one...go to DisneyWorld instead, come to Vegas when you are of legal age
If you have a credit card you should be okay.

but no I don't have any I can suggust, you would have to contact the individual hotel/motel and ask them

I think the age for any hotel/motel is at least 21. Some places might be nice and let you get one when your 18, but you have to pay extra in case you mess up their room(which is what they let me do when i was 18) You dont need a credit card. you can use cash if you want, I dont know about checks though. Some places might be different. And you always have to check with the hotel to find out how much it would be. Good Luck*How old do u have to be to get a hotel/motel room in miami or miami beach and do i need a credit card?
you must be 21 and up and if you wanna stay at a nice place you should have crdit card or cash (they ask you to give them a deposit for the nights you are going to stay there...and they they return you the cash when you leave if everything is ok)

Each night depends on the hotel but a good one is about 100 dollars per day

How do you go about removing illegal prostitutes from hotels and motels in Queensland ,sue the owner?

i think they should take down the hotel sign and put up a bordello sign.the hookers arent going to dissappear, they'll just go to someone elses neighborhood.its the oldest profession on earth, its here to stay.legalize it,regulate it,tax the hell out of it,and live with it.

Only 1 person has to show id at check in... That would be whomever is paying for the room. Call the hotels you'd like to stay at in advance. Most hotels are 21+, so it's best to find out if you'd be able to check in.

*note: Websites that you prepay... Orbitz, Priceline, Hotwire, etc. are not a good idea for you to book through, because they may put you in a hotel that is 21+ and you wouldn't be able to check in. But, you'd loose out on the money you already paid.

I work at a hotel and it's not uncommon to turn down people for thing like that. Particularly if it's a business hotel. We don't do it here and we are always having problems with it. People throw parties in the rooms until 4 in the morning keeping other people up. It is not discrimination. It's making a choice that they hope will improve their hotel. What kind of discrimination laws are there against hotels and motels?
That is total discrimination! I can't believe that! Ugh that makes me so angry. People are so judgemental these days. And also they should not have refused service from you when you are paying THEM to stay in their little hotel.

Whats the diffirence in a motel and a hotel.?

Hotels are generally more expensive and have better service/amenities.Whats the diffirence in a motel and a hotel.?
A motel is geared towards motorist who are traveling as a place to rest your head in between destinations. A hotel would be where you would stay on a vacation.Whats the diffirence in a motel and a hotel.?
Hotels are cleaner, nicer, bigger, more amenities, and expensive sometimes.

Motels are smaller, maybe dirtiet, not alot of things to do, and cheap.
Motel, short for Motor hotel. Usually a row of single 1 room cabins that you stayed in for one night on the road while traveling. A hotel is a multi level multi room in a city or resort. That was in the 30s-70s. now there isn't much difference
Motel [short for motor-hotel]: You park and access your own room from outside.

Hotel: Everyone enters through a central lobby.
A motel is coined from ';motorist hotel'; a hotel intended for motorists or transient travellers or one nighters.
One has several stories stacked up on one another. The other is just a big lot full of single rooms in a row, a circle, or horse shoe shape.
    a hotel is multilevel,a motel,is a mot er,hotel
Motels (';motor hotels';) have the doors to the rooms on the outside. Hotels are inside.
';Motel'; generally describes a lodging facility without any food or beverage outlets (such as restaurants, lounges, banquet rooms), and limited amenities (no fitness center, sometimes no pool, etc...). Motels generally have fewer rooms than a hotel, yet can still be very large offering hundreds of rooms. Motels are more popular near highway interchanges, as they appeal to mororists in need of only a nights rest (thus ';motor'; hotel). With it's low cost to build and operate, and generally located where land values are lower (than where hotels are located) they are common everywhere.

';Hotel'; generally refers to lodging facilities with full services and many outlets and amenities that are not offered in motels. Rooms are generally larger in size with better quality items such as bedding, linen, seating, etc. Hotels are also generally larger than motels in number of rooms, yet they can also be as small as only a few rooms. Expect services such as bellman, concierge, valet, room service and similar, which are generally not offered in motels.

Other general lodging facilities are Inns, Bed and Breakfasts, and Resorts. Newer ';boutique'; style hotels are becoming a popular trend.
Motels have doors that are accessed outside, hotels are internal doors

What is the difference between hotels and motels?

I have been wondering about this for a while.

Are there any differences or are they simply the names that they choose?

Thanks! What is the difference between hotels and motels?
A motel is the combination of motor and hotel and implies its proximity to roadways. Motels are limited in the facilities that they provide (they are not allowed to have a restaurant in most place), and they target people who drive by and need short term accommodations. Hotels are multifunctional, target guests who use more than one mode of transportation, and are more flexible in the duration of a stay. Hope this helps! What is the difference between hotels and motels?
A motel is a building in which stands no more than 3 stories hi, where a hotel's can be multiple stories hi, they have class, Hotels are often found in town or on the outskirts, where motels are alone highways and interstates, I need a live. lol Hope it helped
hotels are when you have to go in the building to get to your room

motels are when the door to yourroom is on the outside of the building
Umm, hotels have hallways and elevators on the inside to help you to your room, but motels have stairs and sidewalks on the outside. And I'm not sure about Inns, but I guess they have both... I don't know.
Motels you enter your room from the outside.

Hotels have a lobby and you enter your room from hallways. You understand what I'm saying? It's hard to explain.
hotel as a noun, is a building where meals and rooms are provided for travellers. motel is a hotel designed for the convenience of travellers with motor cars.
for me, in motels people go there for like a night and go on the other hand, in hotels u stay there for days. motels are cheaper than hotels.
motels are usually smaller and hotels are relaxing and are usually in big buildings

    ;D
Motels are ';motor hotels';. Which means you drive up to the door of your room. Hotels usually involve getting out of your car and going to your room through a lobby and hallway!!!!
well what ive always thought is that a hotel is more expensive and nicer and that a motel its cheaper and not as nice but i might be wrong
In a hotel the doors open from a hall way and in a motel the doors open from the outside.
A motel has the door to ur room on the outside and hotels u have to walk inside to get to the door of ur room...
I'm gonna agree with baby d, Hotels are higher class and Motels are hole in the wall places to sleep or do the dirty
    one is spelled w/ a 'h' and one is spelled w/ a 'm'
    Here's a visual for you.

    Motel 6 ............. the hilton

    it's all about the money
a motel is where you bring a hooker

a hotel is where you take your other girlfriend
hotels are tall, motels are short
i think motels are more like houses.
Motels have cups with plastic on them...

    Yep yep. :]
honestly....i have NO idea at all. ive wondered that too. huh. well if u find out tell me. lol

Branson is not expensive at all if you plan ahead. I live in Harrison, AR (30 mins South) so I'm in Branson several times a month.

It can be but if you do your homework, you can find deals. There are coupons. Depending on what you want, if you want to stay off the maind area but still have access and if you want to be a mile away from SDC there is a simple little motel with no pool but very clean called Stonybrook Inn. We used to stay there and it ran about $35 per night. Twelve Oaks Inn was a good place to stay and reasonable as well near the strip. The Barrington Hotel used to have a place you can bid on rooms and get some really good deals, not sure if it still does that. There are coupons out there, contact the State of Missouri tourism bureau as well. Off-season rates are much cheaper but not all things are open too. Indian Point has some great little resorts too. See the website. You might contact the Branson Chamber of Commerce too.

I would like at least a 3 star lodging. 2 queen size beds for 4 adults. Preferably closer to Silver Dollar City. If not in the lodging, maybe you could tell me if there are places where you can go dance in the evenings. Can you find me a hotel/motel in Branson Mo with indoor pool, continental breakfast and a entertainment lounge

A safe hotel/motel in denver for a family where nice shopping and restaurants.?

please help me find a clean, safe not too expensive hotel, motel in denver.needs to be walking distance to alot of nice things to just walk and enjoy the whole day.maybe cherry creek shopping area or anything cool like that?please someone who is familiar with this area.i never been to denver before.mostly alot of shops and restaurants.thanks for any help.A safe hotel/motel in denver for a family where nice shopping and restaurants.?
There are only two hotels in the actual neighborhood of Cherry Creek. One is the J.W. Marriot, but it's about $300+ per night, it's a nice hotel in a great location if it's in your budget. The other is the Inn at Cherry Creek and it's about $200 per night and also in a great location to take advantage of Cherry Creek.

There are plenty of hotels in Glendale on Colorado Blvd (note: if you do a search for Denver hotels on yahoo travel they will be listed as in ';Cherry Creek'; but they are really on Colorado Blvd. and not in the actual Cherry Creek neighborhood) that cost as low as $60 per night, and are 1-2 miles from Cherry Creek, but it would be a long walk.

Otherwise, you could stay downtown. Downtown hotels will start at about $130 per night.

I would avoid the suburbs as they are boring and have nothing unique to offer unless you want your dining options to be Applebee's, The Olive Garden, Red Lobster or other comparable restaurants you can find anywhere else in the US.A safe hotel/motel in denver for a family where nice shopping and restaurants.?
Cherry Creek is the city's most wealthy neighborhood, so you're really going to have a lot of trouble finding inexpensive lodging around there, or around downtown.

    If you search the Internet, you'll find a lot of places on Colfax Avenue. A word of warning: Although the street has changed its image some in the past decade, it's generally not considered a ';family-friendly'; street. Many of the hotels offer hourly rates (*aham*) and Colfax Avenue has many of the seediest bars and liquor stores in Colorado. At least between I-225 in Aurora and Golden City Limits. It's also been described as the western United States' ';largest open-air drug market.';

You might try the Residence Inn-Denver Downtown, which is just across I-25 from downtown Denver. The fact that you cross I-25 would probably make it cheaper. Across the street from it is the Ramada - Denver, which is similarly positioned in the market. Neither are within walking distance of Cherry Creek, but they are within walking distance of downtown.
Check out Westminster or Broomfield as well for less expensive hotels, they are away from downtown and Broomfield has Flat Irons Mall
I have to say the Hilton is always a safe call. Or what about the Radisson hotel? You can always go see the zoo? Roy's restaurant is great food, but a little pricey.

For your info, good site, it's helped me:http://dallas.nyctourist.com/
    http://www.hotelsnresorts.com/
Check out the Warrick hotel and the Downtown Comfort inn. Close to $100 a night but walking distance to the 16th st mall the Art musum. Downtown is where you want to be.

Cheap cab ride to Cherry creek also.

Warrick has got a great view on the West side.

Looking for nice motel/hotel in the cleveland area that we can park our harley and not worry about it?

want to be able to park our harley outside motel room, any nice motels to stay in?Looking for nice motel/hotel in the cleveland area that we can park our harley and not worry about it?
    High end...Ritz-Carlton downtown. Secured parking.

Outside of the city...most suburbs you will be OK...Strongsville, Berea, Lakewood. Avoid anything with ';Heights';...Garfield Heights, Maple Heights, etc.

25 minutes outside the city....Summit County. Macedonia, Stow, Twinsburg, Hudson.....nice hotels, very low crime, very pro-active Police. Hiltons. Hamptons, etc.Looking for nice motel/hotel in the cleveland area that we can park our harley and not worry about it?
You want a motel, so....umm.....Strongsville. This is a really nice suburb southwest of the city. It is very safe there. For such a nice suburb, they have lots of low budget (privately owned, not a chain) motels on Pearl Road. This is one of the main roads that lead to the center of Strongsville. (off of Route 82). Sorry I can't think of any of the motels' names, but I know that they won't be very expensive. They are in close proximity to a lot of things to do in Strongsville.
Western Suburbs...Westlake , North Ridgeville, Avon...there is a Super 8 and a Motel 6 in North Ridgeviille on Lorain Rd. b/w 480 and 80. Close to downtown, but still safe. Westlake has some nicer places around Crocker Park off I-90 at Crocker Road.(Holiday Inn is one). Strongsville is OK...Those ';private'; hotels on Pearl are dumps...I was a PAramedic and hauled indigents out of there regularly. Stick with a chain...there is a Holiday Inn on Royalton Rd. (Rt. 82) just eat of I-71. Also, a little farther south in Brunswick and Medina, just of I-71 are hotels as well...getting about 30-40 min. south of town, now. East of town is Beachwood off I271 at Chagrin...a little ritzier, not sure how they feel about Harley crowds. Anyway...good Luck....stay West/South...east side sucks.
In Independence, on Rockside Rd, there are several hotels, one of which is a Days Inn. My parents and sister stay there when they come to visit us. Its a nice central location, just off I-480 at I-77.

Is there a hotel/motel that's cheap AND nice in Las Vegas?

The second time I went to Vegas, I stayed at a crappy motel right next to the airport-Mccrane Airport I think it's called. Anyways, I stayed at Knight's Inn, and it was the most disgusting place ever. Anyone know a cheap and a nice place to stay in Vegas? Thanks! Is there a hotel/motel that's cheap AND nice in Las Vegas?
I've stayed at the Palace Station and loved it. It was less expensive due to being off the strip but we were still close enough! Great service. Clean, spacious rooms. Fantastic dining at reasonable prices.

The only problem we had came about when we first checked in. The A/C wasn't working in the room we booked. We called the front desk and hotel staff were there to fix it right away. Twenty minutes later it was nice and cool in the room and we were very happy!

I've also stayed at Harrah's on the strip. Although I loved their outdoor bar, I would still pick Palace Station to book a room at if I went back.Is there a hotel/motel that's cheap AND nice in Las Vegas?
I think you will be very happy there. I know that everyone in my party were quite happy and we'd booked 3 or 4 rooms at the time.

    Yes, several.
try hotwire they can get you good prices and you can see what they look like first
you can find good deals on every travel website...there is almost always a sale going on.
This may sound strange, but try Circus Circus. It used to be really rundown, but they have added a new tower and the rooms are much nicer - and you can get excellent rates there most of the time! The Excalibur also has some rates that are under $50, but only on certain days. Email me if you want more names!
Imperial Palace-its cheap, and nice, AND in the middle of the strip
I would stay at the Boardwalk Hotel. It is next to Monte Carlo. I stayed there once and the rates were under $40 per night. The place is clean and I had no problems with it. It is on the main part of the strip and getting to the other hotels and casinos is not a problem.
You have to shop around for deals and it depends on what you consider ';cheap.'; The Riviera is still a nice, albeit kitchy, Hotel/Casino. There are a couple up in that direction on the old strip that are pretty affordable (under $150/night double occ). I was in Vegas 3 years ago so unless Circus Circus has been cleaned up since then I would advise against it. Down the other end, Luxor is nice. It's theme is kind of Ceasar's lite (when in Rome, do as the Egyptians do?). You can sometimes find some very good deals at the Hilton or the Flamingo. Personally, I would stay at the Flamingo if the price was right because of the location and if that wouldn't work then I would go to the Riviera again.

  • POLL-What is the difference between a motel and a hotel?

    Some interesting answers

Motels offer accommodation units, sometime restaurant/Bar facilities and can be found anywhere from small towns to large cities, as above size and quality variesPOLL-What is the difference between a motel and a hotel?
A motel is U-shaped or square, with an inner courtyard that serves as the parking lot.Doors face the lot, with ground doors opening directly to their own parking spaces mere feet away. This is extremely convenient for unloading suitcases. It is also reassuring to have your vehicle parked right outside the door where you can keep an eye on it,especially if it contains valuables.

Hotels are located in or near cities. The rooms face inward with doors opening to interior hallways.A guest might stay at a hotel for a week or longer on business or pleasure.Hotels commonly offer jacuzzis, gyms, pools, restaurants, room service, cable television %26amp; internet connectivity.Hotel parking lots are separate, the walk from the lot to the lobby can be a trek.POLL-What is the difference between a motel and a hotel?
    Hotels are nicer
Motels are generally a 1 floor/level unit, usually containing the neccessities for overnight lodging.

At a motel you usually park right outside your room. seldom

Motels have the doors on the outside of the building.

At a hotel you park in a lot or valet park, and your car is nowhere near your room. Hotels are usually multi-stories and often offer more sophisticated services like concierge or room service..

The rooms in hotels are inside the building
at a motel the doors to rooms are on the outside

and in a hotel they are on the inside

    this is the difference
to get really basic, a motel is usually in the country and a hotel is in a city or town.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

It needs to be fairly close close to the Sheraton.Where is a cheap hotel or motel close to I-25 and E Hampton in Denver CO?
There is a 4 points Sheraton hotel just 1 block east of I-25 and Hampden. I used to work there when it was a Marriott. They have a restaurant, a sports bar, and a salon in there. I'm not sure exactly how much it costs, but I've stayed there and the rooms are nice. If you call the hotel directly 303-758-7000, you can usually get cheaper rates than if you call the 800#. The Sheraton is the only hotel I know right there, however if you go northwest about 2 miles on Colorado Blvd there are a range of hotel/motels in the area, or if you go east to the Cherry Creek district there are nice hotels. What is a cheap and nice hotel or motel in Key West, Florida?

Define cheap? Low rent in Key West is around 70.00 per night. Most of the chains rent for around 110.00 -130.00 per night. I would recommend using Yahoo Travel and let it browse for a hotel during the time line you wish to go. If you want to go upscale the Casa Marina Resort in my opinion is the best on the island and the rooms will run around 200.00 per night (excluding resort fees and taxes) with an internet special rate. The closest place outside of Key West for a hotel is Sugarloaf at mile marker 17 (and that is a lodge about 60 years old) the next after that really is Marathon at mile marker 50. So if your really interested in Key West Night life you need to stay in Key West. You can rent bicycles and just tour the whole 3x5 mile island without worry then. What is a cheap and nice hotel or motel in Key West, Florida?
There aren't any cheap ones. You're better off staying on an island a bit north of there. You can still do everything you want in K.W. but will pay less to stay there. Key West is where my family comes from. You definately want to visit in the off season for cheaper rates. If you go there in season it will be crowded and expensive.

There's Motel 6 and also Holiday Inn
    I second that... Carson doesn't have much in that area and the location you want is primarily industrial. Also, key word is ';safer';

If you travel just a few more minutes west or north, you can stay in Torrance/Gardena/Redondo area which has much more things to do.

Carson is only 10 minutes from any of those cities, and you will find more things to do after the festival.

Why not try tripadvisor.com and find a hotel based on your budget that way?
I agree, you can stay in Torrance or in Gardena. But Gardena is only a few exits off the 405 from Carson, take the Normandie Ave Ave or 190th St Exit. There are plenty of nice hotels and there is a nice one on Vermont off the 405 that is a Marriott I think. Anyway- avoid staying in Carson especially if your not familiar with the area. ALSO keep in mind in Calif we are just starting the numbering and lettering freeway exit system (exit 3B etc) so our exits are about 1/4 mile apart and go by street names, so it helps to plan ahead, Calif drivers don't like people not planning ahead for thier exits on the freeway thus cutting across, and try to keep up with traffic (LOL) when its moving.

Inn - A large bed and breakfast with spacious public areas .Whats the diffrence betwee a hotel, a motel, and an inn??
A motel is a type of hotel in which parking is provided at or near the room and the room door gives out onto the parking lot.

An inn is a hotel providing overnight lodging for travelers.

A hotel is an establishment that provides lodging, usually on a short-term basis. Hotels often provide a number of additional guest services such as a restaurant, a swimming pool or child care. Some hotels have conference services and encourage groups to hold conventions and meetings at their location.Whats the diffrence betwee a hotel, a motel, and an inn??
My thoughts on this question are a motel is smaller than an inn, very little frills and a smaller price tag; an inn is smaller then a hotel with a few frills and a bigger price tag and a hotel has many frills, like a concierge, who arranges things for the guests with a huge price tag.
hotels are nicer and motels are not. Inn are nicer then motels but motels are usually not that nice
theres really know differents you can get banged at all 3
a hotel you go inside and maybe get on a elevator. The Inn is pretty much the same, maybe not too many of them. The motel is where you park in front of your door and its usually one level.
A hotel doors lead to a hallway,, motel doors lead to a parking lot..Inns have food included
IMO, a hotel is a high rise over 3 stories; A motel is one floor or 2 floors; An inn is a quaint country motel that includes a restaurant within the premises.
motel one floor outside doors - 50 bucks

hotel multi floors inside doors - 100 bucks

inn run by a couple lay out varies more personal service - 150 bucks and up
A hotel is more expensive and a motel cheap

An Inn is intimate, maybe in the country
    Hotel=rooms accesible indoors only.

    Motel=rooms accesible OUTSIDE only.

inn=rooms accesible inside partically %26amp; outdoor partically.

What is the difference between hotel and a motel?

A motel is a hotel providing travelers with lodging and free parking facilities, typically a roadside hotel having rooms adjacent to an outside parking area or an urban hotel offering parking within the building.

A hotel is a commercial establishment offering lodging to travelers and sometimes to permanent residents, and often having restaurants, meeting rooms, stores, etc., that are available to the general public. What is the difference between hotel and a motel?
Motel is short for motor hotel. The difference between the two, is that you can drive directly to your door at a motel. At a hotel, you must enter the building to access your room door. Some motels now have two of more floors, but the doors are still on the outside of the building. Definitions:What is the difference between hotel and a motel?
a hotel offers more ammenities such as food, pool, multi floors and better service
There is no much difference between the two. The word ';Motel'; is derived from the term ';Motor Hotel';. In 1950s the hotels used to provide motor parking facilities to rest as an additional comfort. Instated of calling this service as Motor Hotel they start to call MoTel.
A Hotel consists of one building with many rooms stacked on top of each other, the rooms are accessed by a hallway via several floors.

A motel consists of individual buildings containing a few rooms each. Most Motels are layed out so guests can park their cars right at the front door to their room. Motels are usually only 2-stories tall.
The SPELLING ofcourse some thing else also differs
Hotel and motel appears to be similar in meaning. Both are undertaking commercial activity. Hotel is one, where there are number of rooms with all facilities for the stay of travellers, permanent residents etc, having restaurants, gym, club, swimming pool. Motels are situated on road side with small room independent unit with free car parking facility. Of course the charges are more in hotel and less in motel.
Basically you access a motel from the outside. They either have one level or two, and you have to go along a walk way to access your room. You can get maid service if your a resident of the motel long enough, but generally they dont bother until you check out. Tipping is appreciated by the cleaning staff. No food service is available, but, usually there is a food establishment close by so that you can get what you need, either in the next building or down the road.

In a Hotel all rooms are accessed from the inside, either via elevator for different floors or escalators or stairs. Maid service is often provided once a day or every other day. In a posh motel, you may have room service, but it comes with a high cost of delivery and often is charged to your credit card. Tipping is always appreciated. In most hotels, there is a complimentary breakfast or brunch being served in the lobby or off the lobby area.

Parking is generally adaquate at both a motel and hotel as each room must have so many parking spaces alloted to the hotel now..(Industary standards).

A motel will ';usually'; not have a pool (unless your in a vacation resort area), but a hotel has a lot of amenities such as pools, saunas, workout rooms and gyms.

Motels are just a room to stay at, where a hotel has enough to make you want to stay.

Both have televisions and phones available in rooms. (Motels often charge you for outside calls). You must present a credit card when checking into either a hotel or motel.

    I wish you well..

hotels r found in cities %26amp; have lodging %26amp;eating facility, but a motel is found in small areas %26amp; only have eating facility.

If you have to go back outside after registering, to go to your room, it's a motel. If all the rooms are reached from interior hallways, it's a hotel.
    ';MO';tels cost ';MO';re ';MO';ney and ';HO';tels are cheap - where you take cheap ';HO';ez
Okay, I've asked this myself. So far, I have really found one main differance, the quality. At least supposedly. I think that a hotel has room entrances on the inside of the facility, while motel's have outside entry into the rooms. And the sad thing about me not know for sure is the fact that I work at a Hotel. lol
Hotels are classier and more expensive. In a hotel you are entitled to room service and special priveleges. In a motel if you are lucky you get a continental breakfast which usually consists of stale muffins and one measly paper cup of orange juice. Hotels, you can actually order the food and they bring it to your room and the food is actually pretty good. The rooms are definately bigger and they are very very spacious and they frown if they see me coming in with Little Cat, so I prefer the Motels. :D
A motel isn't as nice as a hotel! it's as simple as that!
There really isn't too much of a difference.

I have stayed in resort motels.

I have stayed in resort hotels.

The main difference is the number of stories.

A hotel has more than four stories.
motel - smaller, less room, less staff, cheaper

hotel - bigger, more rooms, more staff, expensive
Motel is slightly smaller / cheaper than the hotel.

    I guess..
Motel are cheaper then hotel .
Technically it's a motel if it only has one floor and a hotel if it has 2 or more.
Motel is a paid guesthouse which is a little low standard and cheap. Hotel is a guesthouse which has much higher standards of quality and service, ambience and usually comes at a higher price too.
A motel has all the rooms with separate outdoor entrances. A hotel has all of the room entrances inside the building connected with hallways.
    hotel - tall, expensive

    motel - short, cheap
Most motels are smaller, cheaper. They are the ones that you have to outside to get into your room. Hotel are a little more expensive and you go inside the building to get to your room.
Motels are generally less affordable and have two stores or less. Hotels are more expensive and offer more ammenities!

    Motel and hotel?

    wats the differance??Motel and hotel?
Motel is short for ';Motor Hotel'; It is mostly a marketing difference and there are no hard rules. The term was started in the 50's and sort of grew up with Route 66, etc, and building of highways, and promotion of road trip holidays. Generally, a motel is catering to people traveling by car. Thus they tend to have free parking, and a motel room with a door that goes right outside and easy access to your car. They tend to be smaller than a hotel, and 3 stories tall is uncommonly high.

They tend to not waste space on a big fancy or expensive lobby. They tend to be cheaper and located on highways or the outskirts of town.Motel and hotel?
none...the only difference is that motels charge lower fees than hotels but everything is the same
the real difference.motel starts with (M) and hotel starts with (H) that is about it.
There IS a difference. A motel will not offer guest services--such as included breakfast, a gym, an elevator, baggage check-in, restaurant, laundry, room service. A hotel does.
a hotel is enclosed where as a motel has the doors to the rooms outside
motels are cheaper versions of hotels. motels generally are not as nice.

What is diff. between motel and hotel?

A motel generally has the doors to the room going directly to the parking area. A hotel has interior hallways, where your rooms doors are.

Further differences have developed (normal prices, level of service, reputation, etc).

*edit* Also, in Latin America motels are significantly different from hotels, in that they offer hourly rates (and it isn't for sleeping, primarily). What is diff. between motel and hotel?
imo: a motel is cheaper, with less amenities, fewer perks (such as indoor heated swimming pools or an exercise room) and are typically in less desirable areas. They are used typically for simple one night stays or by travelers who don't care much about what they get as long as they have somewhere to sleep.

a hotel on the other hand can range from barely above motel status to those glitzy $15000 a night superstar resorts that heat your towels for you, stock the minifridge with extremely expensive wine and whatnots. Hotels are generally used for travelers who want more of an experience, or just want a safer, cleaner environment to rest in while on vacation/business.What is diff. between motel and hotel?
Motels are mostly roadside lodgings that are small and privately owned, where as Hotels belong to large chains such as The Hilton or Holiday inn. Hotels are more expensive and they are also larger.

I'm 16 and i am coming into town for a game with someone but being underage both of us are we able to get a hotel Can someone be 16 and get a hotel or motel if you have a id?
Nope. Some places you have to be 21, and sometimes you can find the rare 18+.

Alot of the time you will have to have a credit card on file also. Can someone be 16 and get a hotel or motel if you have a id?
    nahh,

you would have to rent it under your parents our a friends name,

and have to have their id,

and it would be charged to there credit card.
Most hotels usually require you to be 21 or at least 18. Some hotels are now rasing the age to 25!
Without an adult, I don't think you can.
No...Many hotels or motels accept guest who's at least 18 or 21 years old.

Motels are usually single buildings and don't offer many amenities, like a restaurant. Think Motel 6: short, not many floors, and sans restaurants or spas. A hotel has multiple floors and includes a lot of guest amenities, like elevators (ha!), a restaurant, breakfast service, room service, maid service, a spa, etc.

We are going to disneyland in july and looking to stay at a motel/hotel?

that is not too close to disneyland. the reason is because i noticed that the motels/hotels that are at least 3 miles or farther to disney land are cheaper. I dont mind making the 10-15 minute drive to disneyland since we will have a vehicle. Which motel or hotel do you guys recommend? A decent one.We are going to disneyland in july and looking to stay at a motel/hotel?
I don't know what your looking to pay but if you go out of the disney area of course it's cheaper but your it's not a good area as my sister calls it ';AnaCRIME';. Your better off just paying the little bit extra. I was also looking for hotel in that area of disneyland and found some great prices. I recommend staying at close distance to disneyland. Good Luck!We are going to disneyland in july and looking to stay at a motel/hotel?
You should be able to do a city-wide quote and sort the results by price in order to get the cheapest rate - http://www.resideo.com/us/california/ana鈥?/a>

But, as the previous poster mentioned, it can be a pain to make the trip (and park in the garage, etc. etc.).

I also suggest the BW Park Place Inn and Suites or any of the others on Harbor Blvd that are in your price range.

    Hope that helps!
I would really suggest staying near Disneyland... there are several hotels around to fit any budget...

It will save you 11 dlls for parking... and on busy days, it can take up to 30 minutes from the time you enter the parking lot to get to the Park Entrance, especially if you are sent over to a lot that has no shuttle service (you'll have to walk all the way to the park)... And even on quiet days, it takes a while to enter the parking lot, get to your space (the Cast Members tell you where to park), walk to the shuttle stop, wait for the shuttle, board the shuttle, get to the park and walk to the entrance...

Not to mention that it's safer than 3 miles away from Disneyland...

I've stayed on several hotels on the Resort Area, but if you want cheap but nice, I personally recommend the LA QUINTA INN %26amp; SUITES ANAHEIM or the TRAVELODGE ANAHEIM... they're both a block away from Disneyland, so you won't get all the hastle from around the resort, but you can still walk there... and they can be between $80 and $120 per night, depending on when you go...

    Have Fun!
    stay at the resort
Just go online for all the major chains. They are all decent and all competitively priced. My friend uses Priceline to get good prices when he comes to CA.
There are some REALLY seedy areas once you venture away from the tourist corridor, I really reccomend staying closer to the park, the crowne plaza is noce, relatively inexpensive, as is the candy cane inn, fairfield inn, and desert inn. They all have shuttles. Parking at disneyland is $12 and a HUGE walk and wait.
    www.anaheimoc.org
The two I always recommend are the Candy Cane Inn and the Howard Johnson, right there on Harbor Blvd (HoJo may be on Manchester).

It's very tricky getting ';cheaper'; hotels. Take a trip to tripadvisor.com and read some of the reviews. A couple places to avoid are the Park View Inn on West Drive, and a couple of hotels called Best Value Inn and America's Best Value. When you figure how much your time is worth, you'll see it's a pretty good value to stay close to the park. Some days it takes an hour to drive to the structure, park the car (after waiting in line), wait in line for the shuttle, take the shuttle to the front of the park, and then wait in line again. (We are passholders and live about 15 minutes away).
There are about 100 hotels, motels, etc near Disneyland.

Google Anaheim or Buena Park. There are lots of affordable places to stay. Maybe Costa Mesa would be good %26amp; that's about 15 mins away from Disneyland %26amp; also near Newport Beach which is a nice area.
Hey you can find a cheap hotel on one of these sites.... http://www.123world.com/anaheim/anaheim-鈥?/a> or http://anaheim.nyctourist.com/anaheim-di鈥?/a> Good Luck!!
I don't know of any that are 3 or more miles away, but the Best Western Park Place Inn right across the street is I believe about 100-129 a night.

Sometimes people don't realize what a pain in the *** getting your car.....which can be 3 miles away and going back to the hotel a couple times a day, if you have small children, can be.

Best and cheap hotel/motel without bed bugs to stay in Niagara Falls Canada?? also best shopping in Buffalo?

    Hello,

I have read alot of stuff on the internet about travelers horror stories on some motels/hotels in Niagara Falls Canada...I am wondering where are some cheap motels/hotels to stay in that were clean and tidy and without little critters...I don't mean cheap cheap...I am staying for 3 days and 2 nights..and I am willing to pay a few hundred dollars...where are some nice places that don't break the bank and also won't leave me with bug bites..lol

Also, I am going to Buffalo New York shopping and I am wondering where the best outlets, and malls are where I can get good deals???

Best and cheap hotel/motel without bed bugs to stay in Niagara Falls Canada?? also best shopping in Buffalo?
The most economical lodgings (as well as many reasonable restaurants both chain and independent) are on Lundy's Lane. This will put you somewhere between 1-3 miles from the falls, but you will be on a road that can take you directly to the falls. There are many cheaper lodging chains as well as independent places there. However, remember that all NF lodgings normally raise their prices up for weekend nights. It is not unusual to see a room's price double from weekday to weekend during the peak travel season. There are enough national/international chain locations there for you to ignore any questionable independents.

In addition, last year I stayed at the Rodeway Inn Fallsview on Stanley Avenue in mid-September. It was right across the street from the Minolta tower, surrounded by restaurants both local and chain and was a short walking distance from the Fallsview Casino. It wasn't too far up the hill from the Falls either. A day pass on the incline could cut that down even further. Depending on when you go, the price may be $30-40 more than it was for me ($65C) in September. Nailing that deal down is up to your own research.

Three additional tips about the Rodeway Inn:

    1. Make sure it's the Rodeway Inn Fallsview on Stanley Avenue since there are three Rodeway Inns in NFO and a fourth in NY. The other three are MUCH different than this location and are not recommended.

    2. This location is a hybrid where they built a new section in front of an older property. I stayed in the newer section and can report a clean and well appointed room. Some reviews claim the newer section is better than the older one. However, a 4 out of 5 smile rating from Travelocity and a three diamond rating from AAA may contradict that idea. Having only stayed in the newer section, I can't confirm it, though.

    3. For some unexplained reason, I found the double bed rooms here to be cheaper than the single bed rooms. Usually, it's the other way around. I had no problem being in a double bed room (especially since the room was quite large to begin with) if it meant my stay was cheaper. Even if you only need single rooms, opening your options might get you a better price.

The main outlet mall in the Buffalo area is the 150 store Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls on Military Road in Niagara Falls. Walden Galleria is another 200 store mall closer to Buffalo. They tend to have higher end stores with prices to match, but they still might offer something you're interested in. However, for something more off the beaten path or worth the search, I would send you to the official site of the Buffalo Niagara Convention %26amp; Visitors Bureau. They have many more links there for area malls, shopping districts and specialty stores than could reasonably be listed here.Best and cheap hotel/motel without bed bugs to stay in Niagara Falls Canada?? also best shopping in Buffalo?

During my last trip I came across a website called http://www.cheaphotel-s.com . It has quite a large variety of hotels. You might wanna give it a try.

I can't speak to the motels/hotels, but there are many. Shop around, look online.

Shopping I can do, seeing as how I've lived in Buffalo my entire life. (It's a great place to live)

There is the Walden Galleria on Union Rd. in Cheektowaga.

Close to Niagara Falls there is the Factory Outlet Mall on Military Rd in the Falls.

Also close is the Boulevard Mall on Niagara Falls Blvd in Amherst.

The Eastern Hills Mall is located on Transit Rd. in Clarence, and then there is the McKinley Mall on McKinley Parkway in Blasdell.

If you want more eclectic shopping, try the Elmwood Strip in Buffalo. Look for Elmwood Avenue, Elmwood Village. It's a great little place to shop.

Also in the city is Hertel Avenue.

Both streets have great little shops and resteraunts to spend time in.

Don't forget to visit the Erie Basin Marina while you're here for some Ice Cream and to enjoy the Lake for awhile.

What are my rights in a hotel/motel room. Is it the same as in my home regarding search and seizure?

No. Your home is yours a Hotel room is not owned by you. The manager / owner of the Hotel supercedes all. What are my rights in a hotel/motel room. Is it the same as in my home regarding search and seizure?
You do have rights against refusing police entry.

However, you don't have the same rights as a house or apartment. Generally management can enter the room if they suspect you are up to no good and if they find, say, a meth lab. Game on as they say when they call the police and let me in.What are my rights in a hotel/motel room. Is it the same as in my home regarding search and seizure?
A hotel is considered private property. The example another poster gave about being a guest in someones home is a good one.
    Two issues

    1) If a possible threat to life exists then no warrant is needed( by a police officer) to enter. However, entry should be announced.

    2) ';No-knock'; warrants can only be issued by a judge. An investigation has determined illegal activity by a person within, whether the activity occurred there or elsewhere.

or...sir/ma'am may I come in? Search and seizure also becomes lawful if illegal activity/objects are observed.

Whether you are in a hotel room or at home these rules will apply.

Search and seizure laws are complex but simple.

Don't do the crime and you don't have to worry about it.
I can only talk for Australia but the other answers don't fit here.

Management can't legally just walk into your room.

Police have to treat it like any other place - use the powers they have to suit the situation. If they have reasonable suspicion, they must obtain a search warrant, unless emergent search conditions apply, in which case they can enter on the spot - but the suspicion must stand up to the scrutiny of a court later on...you can't just go on a ';fishing trip'; to see what you can get and try to justify it later.

So whilst it can depend on how long you are in the room (is it your residence for the time being or are you just short term) generally you have the same rights as at home.

I hope that doesn't mean you plan to set up a meth lab...those things can blow up on you, especially in hotel rooms...beware the gasses you can't see mate.
they will break down door and shoot you its bad for buisness though
If the manager or owner gives them permission, it is his property and you have no other right than if you were a guest in someone's home using their guest bedroom for a couple of nights, if the police knocked on their door and were let in by the owner your room would be open to search (best example I can give you.)
You have no rights because it is not your property. They can come and search as long as they have the property owners approval.

Would like some info on hotel/motel ownership and/or management.?

books or info about best way to buy motel/hotel how to run one, etc.Would like some info on hotel/motel ownership and/or management.?
Hi. My career is running hotels and thought I might be able to help.

I could recount many horror stories of people who have blindly purchased a hotel and who are now flat broke. Everybody sees the money coming in but do not realize how much money it takes to effectively operate a hotel.

There are some textbooks out there who can shed some light on operating a hotel, but you cannot fully appreciate the complexities of doing so without direct experience. Ergo, rather than trying to read about it, is it possible for you to intern at a local hotel? Or, better yet, is it possible to work at a local hotel?

You obviously have some interest in purchasing a hotel property. I urge you to proceed with extreme caution and consult a hospitality specialist before buying a hotel.

As you know, hotels come in all shapes and sizes and offer a wide plethora of services. Some are resorts catering to those looking for escape. Some are downtown hotels catering to business travellers. Some are suburban, etc etc. You have seen hotels that have restaurants, waterslides, pools, spas, recreational facilities, large tvs, small tv's, etc etc.

Hotels are a lot,,,and I stress A LOT of work, continuously finding better ways to serve guests, constantly recruiting and training staff to represent you in a way you expect, and, competing on a level that delivers solid financial performance. Be prepared for long hours, sleepless nights, hard work, crabby guests, pipe bursts, vandalism, etc.

Sounds crappy huh? Well, there is also the fabulous side of the business too. Meeting guests from all over the world, that great feeling you get when a guest identifies and responds to you going above and beyond on their behalf, the potential financial rewards, and what an ego boost to say you own a hotel !!! These are but a few of the fantastic things about this business.

I don't know where you live or where you are thinking of buying or building a hotel, but at the end of the day, if you are well financed, and you clearly identify and market to your guest demographic, you will eventually reap the rewards if you treat each and every guest like the gold he is each and every day.

Good luck with your enterprise. If you need any help contact me on email at curtis@sagmeister.ca

Not that I'm aware of but what a gem of an idea! Help stamp out illiteracy and whatnot. Is there a program like the Gideons, but to put dictionaries in every motel and hotel room?
From a dictionary?... I don't think so... In any event the answer is no..
    Not a bad idea.

Actually, I'd put in the first ten essays of Ralph Waldo Emerson.
if the world needs anything that would be it.

it never ceases to amaze me that some people have such a limited vocabulary.

i would donate money for that...
i don't thing so but that will be great there is a lot of people who needs them
And learn how to spell atheist? C'mon don't tease me like that.

What is the differance in a motel and a hotel?

Hotels offer full services: restaurant, valet parking, room service, bell staff, concierge etc. Hilton, Embassy Suites, Waldorf, etc.

Motels only offer limited services: typically no room service, no restaurant, no concierge. Hampton Inn, Motel 6, Super 8. etc.

Contrary to what someone else said, Hotels can be one story and Motels can be multi-storied.What is the differance in a motel and a hotel?
Motel rooms have doors leading to the outside. Hotels, you have to inside the building to access your room. What is the differance in a motel and a hotel?
A motel has one story and a hotel is more than one.
Motels = low class hookers ! doopers! smells ! etc

Hotel - High Class hookers - High Class Doopers - doesn't smell
Years ago, a motel was designed for those traveling by car. There was only one floor because each room had its own door to the parking lot so people could come and go at all hours without disturbing other guests. Motels were no frills. There might be a restaurant or diner nearby, but that was it.

And hotels back then had at least two floors, and the rooms were accessed from inner hallways. But just because a building was laid out like a hotel didn't mean a quality stay. There have always been flophouses in American cities.

These days, the line is blurred between what constitutes a motel versus a hotel, since both can have amenities like restaurants and swimming pools. But a hotel is more likely to have a gym and meeting rooms, and a motel will always have outside access to rooms, even if there are several floors.
    $75 dollars
I think Hotels usually have more extra's like a resturant, lounge, health and fitness center etc.
Back when every body started to get cars, before air travel they traveled accross country in cars. A motel is actually a ';motor hotel'; geared to these travelers,
Motels are usually single level %26amp; Hotels are the multi story units!
    The layout of the parking.
O.K. PEOPLE, IT's TIME YOU LEARNED SOMETHING ABOUT AMERICAN HISTORY. The first MO-TEL INN was opened by James Vail in 1926 on Route 101, San Luis Obispo, California. Each %26amp; every Motel from beginning to end was UNIQUE %26amp; many had a theme park atmosphere. They were grand %26amp; fun %26amp; clean %26amp; safe for EVERYONE who was on vacation. In the 50's %26amp; 60's I was fortunate to travel across the U.S. by car with my Family. Every summer %26amp; holidays we traveled to different destinations %26amp; we always stayed at Motor Lodges, aka Motels. Your car was as special as you were %26amp; we could even wash our cars for free. It is sad that so many of you know nothing of the joys of a Motel! A Hotel was a corporate chain store for people who wanted to impress others or be pampered by a wait staff. UNFORTUNATELY, the once thriving Motels suffered a severe loss when the Interstate Freeways were completed %26amp; this took traffic AWAY from the 2 lane High Ways where most of the overnight campgrounds %26amp; Motels were located. Failing business owners sold their Motels to Immigrants who turned them into the filth ridden %26amp; run down dumps that they are today. The cost of maintaining the property could not be done without the profits from the customers. In a sense, the immigrants got a bad deal. In reality, the public got a bad deal because we have lost much of our California History with the loss of the Historic Motor Inns, or Motels, as they were commonly called!
Hotel is spelled with an H.

Motel is spelled with an M.
A motel is for a very short stay and a Hotel is for short and extended living quarters.
A motel is usually cheaper and not as nice - a hotel is generally more classy and costs more - but traditionally a better place to stay.
Hotels are much nicer and more expensive than motels.

I'm used to staying at hotels, nice ones, when I travel for work. One day I decided to stay at a motel close to the plant because I had an early meeting.

When I walked up the steps to get to my room, I had a male audience.

When I got to my room, there was abody fluid and alcohol stench. I called housekeeping. They never showed up.

I wanted to use the gas station bathroom down the street instead of the bathroom in my room.

    There was no clock. The front desk said to ';call them for the time or alarms.';

The remote was glued to the nightstand.
hotel is nicer and motel is for poor people
actually they take the hooker to the Motel and your spouse to the Hotel. Weird?
Motels are for sneaking around with someone other than your spouse or girlfriend because you don't have to walk through a lobby of people you can just pull up to the door. Hotels are strickly business, first class style, with room service and hotels cost more money than motels. I don't think they change the sheets in motels that often so bring your own bedding if you plan on staying in one. Like the other people said in here , the Motels used to be real nice back in the day for long distance travelers that needed to stop and get some sleep before getting on the road again. Just good clean fun, but now they have turned into them short stays for u know who.
I grew up in the hotel motel business. The difference is the parking. A motel you can park by your room and walk in, a hotel you can't. Thats it.
    hotel-at least two stories.

    motel-only one story
motels are nasty and hotels aren't
A motel is used as a quick stay as a Hotel is more of a long stay.
a motel is a place to rest,a hotel is to have a vacation
