What is diff. between motel and hotel?

A motel generally has the doors to the room going directly to the parking area. A hotel has interior hallways, where your rooms doors are.





Further differences have developed (normal prices, level of service, reputation, etc).

imo: a motel is cheaper, with less amenities, fewer perks (such as indoor heated swimming pools or an exercise room) and are typically in less desirable areas. They are used typically for simple one night stays or by travelers who don't care much about what they get as long as they have somewhere to sleep.





a hotel on the other hand can range from barely above motel status to those glitzy $15000 a night superstar resorts that heat your towels for you, stock the minifridge with extremely expensive wine and whatnots. Hotels are generally used for travelers who want more of an experience, or just want a safer, cleaner environment to rest in while on vacation/business.What is diff. between motel and hotel?
Motels are mostly roadside lodgings that are small and privately owned, where as Hotels belong to large chains such as The Hilton or Holiday inn. Hotels are more expensive and they are also larger.
