Age of consent and motel/hotel laws?

My boyfriend is 19, he is coming from the netherlands to see me for a week sometime in the winter. I am 17, we want to rent a hotel room together for a week so we can spend time together. We are going to be having sex, which is legal, but is it legal for my boyfriend to rent a hotel room for an adult and a 'minor' and is it legal for us to stay together in the room. We are not some giddy couple who are going to be at the counter like ';omg omg were gonna rent a room so we can have sex all day!!!';. No, we're both mature about it and are really looking forward to just being together.

is it legal in michigan to do this though? Would they call the cops on us because ia 17 yr old and a 19 yr old are booking a room together? I could even be his sister/cousin/penpal for all they know.Age of consent and motel/hotel laws?
legally you have to be 18 to rent a hotel room (in mich and many other states) , but you also have to take into consideration hotel policies. they dont have to serve you if they dont want to as it is their establishment, so as i know, most hotels dont rent to people under the age of 21.

ps: please dont make a baby.....we dont need another teen girl on welfare....Age of consent and motel/hotel laws?
If his credit card clears upfront, I doubt that they care one way or the other. They're not going to investigate the relationships of evrybody that checks in. If you were doing something that is illegal, that is your problem, not theirs.
It depends on your state law, but in some state he would have too be 21 and he is not your guardian. So just vist him at the hotel, if you know what I mean.
Your boyfriend is a legal adult. He can rent a hotel room in his own name so long as the hotel is willing to do so - many will not rent to people under 21 because they don't want them trashed by parties.

A word of warning though. While the age of consent in Michigan is 16, and sex between you is therefore legal under *State* law, *Federal* law makes it illegal to travel internationally or across a State line with the *intention* of engaging is sex with a person under 18.

Is it ';likely'; that the FBI will go after a 19 year old coming to have sex with his 17 year old girlfriend? No.

Is it ';possible';? Yes.

Richard
I believe you will not be able to rent the room, you are still a minor and regardless of how you look at it, sex with a minor is statuatory rape

even tho he is coming a long way to see you, it appears the primary reason is for sex, and that does not bode well for a lasting relationship, give it a second thought and don't

when a male and female enter a room, shut the door behind them no one but the two know what is going on inside and those outside are only assuming what is the general rule in cases like this and they automatically assume there is sex going on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
