What's the difference between a Motel and a Hotel?

motel- you basically drive up to your door, no hallways to get to it

Hotel- you have to actually go through the lobby to get to your room and to leave you go back through the lobby.What's the difference between a Motel and a Hotel?
Motel is short for 'motor hotel'. Motels are usually found along highways, hotels are usually found in city centers or near airports and rail stations. Motels are usually built around a big parking lot because everyone arrives in a car, hotels usually have underground parking for which they charge extra. Motels tend to be cheaper, being just a place to stay while in transit, while hotels are more considered final destinations.What's the difference between a Motel and a Hotel?
this is a question that stumps every one.

motel = small

like the one you see randomly on highways with only about 15-20 rooms. Motels are roadside lodgings that are often quaint and owned privately. Its doors face the parking lot being only a few feet away. Easy for unloading luggage in this case. The bottom line is that motels are more of just sleep in and leave sort of places to get your energy back for the next morning.

Hotels are the ones you see in like Zack and Cody which is called the ';tipton';. Hotels usually offer luxuries such as pools, Jacuzzis, gyms, tennis courts, cable TV, internet, etc. Hotels are more of a relaxation place where families come if they plan to stay for a few days rather than just the night.

hope this helped!
access to Motel rooms is from the out of doors, usually directly from car to room (motor + hotel = motel)

hotels have lobbies, and you go inside the building before getting to your room.
They are basically the same. However, motels are never more than a few floors. Motels can be found most everywhere. Hotels can be many, many floors. Hotels go 'HIGH' as they are most often found in cities where suitable real estate is both scarce and pricey.
hotels are nicer, and more expensive.

%26amp; you drive up to a motel and the room is right there.

in a hotel, it is all one big building and you cant access the rooms from outside.
A motel usually has doors to the rooms located outside, so you can enter your room directly from the outdoors. Whereas in a hotel, you enter your room from an interior hallway.
one letter

seriously, when people starting traveling by car (motoring) some hotels that started calling themselves motels
Motel is for cars parked outside next to the room M=motel

Hotels the rooms are inside next to hallway cars in a parking lot somewhere else
Motel originally stood for Motor Hotel basically a ground level hotel with parking in front of your room...Or Like Coral Courts in St Louis was..It had individual garages....
Motels have doors that face outside, while hotels are inward facing. That is hotels have interior corridors and motels have exterior.
motels are usually one level and hotels have more than one level and they are inside..motels are on the outside like some apartments.
motel = drive hotel styli

hotel = hotel
Hotels have interior corridors
one starts with an M and the other a H.
one cheat and the other is expensive
