What is the difference between a hotel and a motel?

Hotel, bigger, possibly has restaurants, gift shop, workout or exercise room and other services

Motel is a place to sleep or have sex if you are lucky with a partnerWhat is the difference between a hotel and a motel?
A hotel is where you go for full service...i.e. room service, bellman, restaurant, exercise rooms, pool etc...

A motel is where you go for a night or two without all the frills....usually cheap or sleazy....vibrating bed, creepy people sleeping next door to you...possible axe murderer! What is the difference between a hotel and a motel?
Hotel is usually a bigger company and a little classier than a motel. It's also usually more expensive.
originally, motels were all one level and a hotel was 2 or more floors
Class pure and simple also amenities. I loathe Motels. Hotels it is for me...Enclosed as well..none of this outdoor motor lodge shite for me.
